Camera Stabilization System

As the era of videography rises, so do all technologies that support the creative process of film-making. Such a game-changer is the motorized gimbal. Since gimbals came on the market a few years ago, it enabled smaller projects with a team of just a few people to accomplish high-quality productions. This inspired a whole new generation of film-makers to create projects all around the world with just a few pieces of equipment.

Octopus is a camera gimbal system which, due to its modular design, can transform into three different formats and fit the needs of semi-professional and professional creators. The system has been designed to not only be flexible in its formats but compact for transport. Its magnesium frames make the construction lightweight and stable, therefore it is essentially easier to be used in almost every situation. An LED display gives direct feedback to the user and allows a quick and easy change of modes and settings. The gimbal is built on standard quick-release systems and can easily be assembled, disassembled or changed in format.

The main goal of this bachelor's thesis was to create a camera stabilization system, which is comfortable and flexible enough to inspire creativity and make even more adventurous projects possible.
