A person spends about a third of their lifetime sleeping. With lucid dreaming this time could be used for personal development. A dream becomes lucid when the dreamer is aware of the fact that they are dreaming. During a lucid dream the person is able to control their dream including the setting, actions and figures. Every person is capable of learning how to experience lucidity.

LUCE is a product that supports users in this process. It is worn during sleep and allows the user to have extraordinary dreaming experiences by tracking sleep phases and using visual light induction and customizable light patterns. These experiences can be documented using the app the next morning. Furthermore users gain access to relevant sleeping data, evaluations, and information as well as tips and motivation. The product facilitates falling asleep and enables a gentle awakening in the morning.

For LUCE transparency is the most important aspect. The users are supposed to be able to comprehend their results and the effects of sleep influencing factors anytime. This helps to achieve the optimal support to learn lucid dreaming.
