E-mountainbiking is a sport full of fun and market potential, so I decided to develop a controller for it. When I started designing an e-mountainbike controller, I immediately realized an inevitable question: whether cross country or downhill, why should users choose e-MTB instead of a traditional MTB? What kind of person buys an e-MTB?

After seeing some documentations, I think the answer is that my target group are not professional athletes. The users sacrificed weight to achieve motor performance because they did not have the strongest body and did not require a marginal gain of 0.1 s. But of course they still want to enjoy the same off-road joy, they are the so-called weekend riders. Joy is the design focus of this controller. This is not only the joy of riding, but also the joy of owning a beautiful product.

On the other hand, I think that an e-MTB controller is also an electronic product, which means it can borrow design elements from other electronic products both internally and externally. Especially if my target users are probably familiar with electronic products and are using smartphones and social networks. The end result of the development is Plateau, an experience-oriented e-MTB controller.
