The Corona crisis has a strong influence on the development of children. Due to the closure of kindergartens, schools and playgrounds, the children are lacking physical activity and social contacts. It can be very difficult for working parents – especially in times of home office – to look after their child at home.

With buddle a solution was found how children can occupy each other over a larger distance and in a restricted space. Buddle embodies the best friend (buddy) as a remotely controllable ball (bubble). The children can see each other via video call and can just enjoy the presence or play together on an LED projected playground. Buddle is controlled by a tiny controller, which is either balanced in the hand or used to locate the child in the playing field – where the child walks, the ball rolls with the playmate.
