The Wave is a furniture of the future, suitable for many occasions. It consists of thousands of columns powered by an air pump and contains a retractable blanket filled with silicone.

The original concept was born out of dissatisfaction with the poor ergonomics and the sole function of the 2020 bed.
During the detailed design process, the Japanese tatami became the source of inspiration, associated with the tides of people: You can sit on it during the day and sleep on it at night. Tatami mats serve multiple functions in a single form, but what will people have in 2050 when they no longer have a single form?

My answer is complete personalization and a high level of fit, the Wave adapts to your body and your feelings. You can fall asleep with a simulated wave or sit on the perfect pillow and drink tea. In 2050, the most precious sense of silence and ritual will be fulfilled.

This project was developed as a student project and not on behalf of any company mentioned.
