Rooftop tents are a trend that is growing in popularity among campers:
Easy to set up, conveniently and weatherproof mounted on the roof, they offer an alternative to more expensive camping options such as caravans and mobile homes. Nevertheless, the charm and character of traditional camping are not lost.

However, roof tents have to face some challenges:
Dynamic roof loads on car roofs have to become smaller and fixed roof tents are no longer flexible after camping. Also: what to do if your own vehicle does not offer any assembly options? The stowability is also a major criticism of current products.

The CAMPWERK Explorer combines flexibility with simple construction and practical stowability in an air tent, which will be build from the trunk of compact-class vehicles.

It bypasses the limitations of roof loads and mounting options while still offering the user the same camping experience of sleeping off the ground as traditional rooftop tents.
